So yesterday, I had Nose Surgery. 3 surgeries to be exact: Rhinoplasty, Septoplasty, and Turbinate Reduction. For those unfamiliar read the aside for a quick explanation of what those are.
And oh my god, I woke up in so much pain I started to regret the surgery, thinking the shitty quality of life I had before was still preferable to the pain and suffering I was feeling when I woke up!
Of course, that was really just the pain and congestion talking. I’m feeling much better today. There’s still some pain and a lot of congestion. But between Advil and Percocet, the pain isn’t much of a problem.
Perhaps the biggest annoyance of this nose surgery (aside from the congestion which is absolute torture) is I can’t wear glasses, and my contacts just aren’t as good for reading. At least where small print is concerned. Like I can read this fine as I type it. But If I made the text smaller ( Like this for example ) I wouldn’t be able to read it.
I suppose there’s also the physical restrictions. No exercise, no heavy lifting (Tell your mom I’m sorry. 🤣), and no bending over. (I guess I’ll have to master the “twerk squat” when I need to pick something up off the floor. 🤷🏻♀️)
All things considered; I’m doing pretty okay. The doctor expects about 3 weeks for total recovery, but the first week is the hardest. But clearly I’m not letting it dampen my spirits or stop me from working on this website to entertain you!
